The operating problem

Physical stores and event sales need fast product lookup and dependable checkout. When the same inventory is also sold online, a failed external update must not make a completed local transaction disappear.

What we built

We developed a retail POS with product lookup, checkout, transaction records, and inventory updates. The interface supports the operational context of both regular stores and temporary selling locations.

The integration separates the local transaction from downstream Shopify synchronization. A committed sale remains recorded locally while pending external updates can be retried, rather than treating an external API response as the entire transaction.

What the work enables

The implemented workflow connects store activity with online stock while keeping transaction state visible. Recovery remains an explicit operational process when an external system is unavailable.

Reusable lesson

A checkout system needs a clear definition of what has completed locally and what still needs to synchronize.
