The operating problem

Spreadsheets are familiar planning interfaces, but a recurring planning process needs more than a collection of manual calculations. Inputs, calculation steps, and outputs have to connect predictably.

What we built

We developed a web-accessible workflow that accepts Excel inputs, passes the planning data into a Python MRP calculation layer, and produces outputs for review. PHP and MySQL support the surrounding application.

The preserved implementation includes spreadsheet and web-oriented output components. The separation lets the workbook remain a practical input and review surface while calculation logic lives in a repeatable process.

What the work enables

The source demonstrates an implemented planning application with file-based inputs and generated outputs. It is historical work, not evidence of a current deployment or a quantified improvement in purchasing performance.

Reusable lesson

Keeping spreadsheets in the workflow does not require keeping all of the business logic inside them.
