Project Overview:
One of our clients, a user of Finale Inventory Management, needed an advanced solution to automate and optimize their inventory management by connecting with multiple suppliers. Finale is a cloud-based inventory management system designed for businesses that require precise control of their products across multiple locations.
To achieve this integration, we utilized PromoStandards, a set of industry standards in the promotional products space that facilitates seamless data exchange between suppliers and distributors. This allowed us to connect our client with several key suppliers, including Carolina Made, Alpha Broder, S&S Active Wear, Lane Seven, and San Mar.
Implementation:
- Purchase Order and Detail Reading: We developed an integration that automatically reads purchase orders and their details from the suppliers using the PromoStandards standard.
- Shipment Details: The integration also captured the details of each shipped box content, including the tracking number, providing full visibility of the shipping process.
- Creation of Purchase Orders in Finale: We automated the creation of purchase orders directly in Finale, specifying the products contained in each box.
- Insertion of Tracking Numbers: The tracking numbers for each box were automatically inserted into Finale, facilitating easier inventory tracking and management.
- Merchandise Reception System: We implemented a system that allowed employees to scan the barcodes of the boxes (tracking numbers) to quickly mark merchandise as received. This system was available on both mobile and desktop applications.
- Automatic Product Code Mapping: We developed a mapping system that automatically converted internal product codes to Finale codes, with alerts for any missing mappings, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency in the reception process.
Results:
This comprehensive solution enabled our client to optimize their supply chain, improve inventory management accuracy, and reduce the time needed for receiving and processing merchandise. The implementation of this system also minimized manual errors and provided greater visibility of shipments and receipts, contributing to a more efficient and agile workflow.
